Frank peschier
Dr Frank Peschier is a dramaturg, critic and lecturer from South London, based in Liverpool.
She is the New Works Associate at the Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse, where she works across artist development, in-house dramaturgy and commissions. Frank was highly commended for the 2021 Kenneth Tynan Award from dramaturgy for ‘her artistic leadership and passion in platforming and celebrating voices that are often left unheard.’
She regularly writes theatre criticism and articles for Exeunt and The Stage, and annually covers Edinburgh Festival where she specialises in cabaret and circus. She has run workshops and panels on the importance of criticism for The Donmar and Society of British Theatre Designers. Recently she ran the Croydon Writes mentorship programme as part of Croydonites festival with The Stage’s international editor Natasha Tripney.
Frank also holds a PhD in Scenography and New Writing from University Arts London, for which she received a TECHNE Doctoral Partnership Scholarship and a Post-Doctoral Innovation Fellowship. Her academic work includes papers presented in the UK and internationally at IFTR and TAPRA, as well as being the founding editor of JAWS: The Journal of Arts Writing by Students (Intellect Books).
She has lectured in scenography, playwriting and contextual studies for BA and MA students at UAL, Royal Holloway, Arts University Bournemouth, LIPA and Liverpool Hope. Frank acted as a research assistant on the academic enquiry to the National’s inaugural Public Acts, contributing to Professor Helen Nicholson’s 2020 published report ‘National Theatre: Public Acts, A Story of Hope 2017 -2020’.
Frank is delighted to join Headlong as Interim Literary Manager, having previously worked with the company on ‘Corrina, Corrina’.
