Casey Lloyd

Casey Lloyd is a director, actor, theatre maker, and facilitator from the city of Bristol. Since graduating from the London College of Music in 2015, Casey has spent the last nine years directing, performing, and creating a wide range of productions under various roles. In 2024, Casey was the recipient of a prestigious Fulbright Award and a full scholarship to undertake a Masters in Contemporary Theatre and Performance with a focus in Directing at The New School, New York. Despite being unable to accept this offer due to a change in his personal circumstances, Casey has gone on to excel with his most recent co-created project, Gurt Haunted. The show was performed to largely sold-out audiences during its run at the Bristol Old Vic’s Weston Studio in October 2024, receiving high acclaim and being branded as “One of the funniest staged shows ever seen” (Bristol 24/7).

As a director and theatre maker, Casey is passionate about using art as a tool for systemic change. He loves to make work that fuses satire, live performance, music, film, and spoken word to produce art that leaves an audience with a call to action. As a Working and Benefits Class (WBC) artist, Casey cares deeply about directing work that is created with, for, and alongside underrepresented communities, particularly those from WBC backgrounds. As a proud Bristolian, he’s particularly fond of exploring the universality of local stories.

Casey has directed and assistant directed various-sized projects for highly regarded organisations such as Bristol Old Vic, Cardboard Citizens, Super Culture, Tobacco Factory Theatres, and Travelling Light. Casey is excited to further develop his directorial craft over the next year as part of the Origins 5.0 cohort.
