Carla-Marie Metcalfe
Carla-Marie is a trained actor and graduate from Arts Ed London. She has performed in a variety of acting roles across her career both in the UK and internationally.
She also has a BA Hons in Contemporary and Devised Theatre.
Her career as a producer began when she co-produced Butterfly Theatre Company's production of The Lesson at the Other Palace Studio (formerly the St James Theatre Studio) after which she joined Butterfly’s creative team as an Associate Producer and then Creative Producer.
She has particular experience in bringing unconventional theatre spaces to life through live theatre and is passionate about heart opening theatre that offers up diverse perspectives and that makes an audience feel something genuine and authentic.
Carla-Marie is originally from Jersey, Channel Islands, and has a passion for increasing engagement and accessibility to live theatre within her hometown community, where opportunities to experience new forms of theatre are less available. Carla-Marie has produced a diverse range of productions in Jersey including site-specific and immersive theatre, new writing commissions and educational theatre for children. Her work has been supported by a variety of different charitable, heritage and governmental organisations. Her 2022 children’s Show The Silent Garden Puppet Show which she co-wrote, devised and produced, won a 2022 INTO Excellence award for its contribution to the engagement of young children in environmental issues.
Alongside her other work, Carla-Marie is also an education practitioner and has facilitated acting and theatre workshops and education initiatives for Drama Arts Productions, Arts University Bournemouth and Jersey Youth Performing Arts.
