Josh’s plays include: Buggy Baby, The Mikvah Project (Yard Theatre), Victoria’s Knickers (Soho Theatre), 10,000 Smarties (Three Streets at the Old Fire Station) and short plays Mrs Camel (Young Vic) & Bike (Royal Court at Pimlico Playground). Josh is a recipient of a 2019 Channel 4 playwright award and is spending a year on attachment with Headlong theatre company. He is currently under commission to write plays for The Almeida, and New Perspectives. In 2017, Josh was on attachment at the National Theatre Studio.
Josh has recently started writing for screen and is writing a pilot for Big Talk/BBC3.
He has taught playwrighting and theatre at HMP Bedford and in schools and youth groups across the UK.
As a theatre director, credits include: Come In Sit Down (MUJU at the Tricycle Theatre). The Man Who Almost Killed (Summerhall & Odeon cinemas): Sink or Shpin (Bannatyne’s Health club & BOOM cycle).
Josh studied social anthropology at Manchester University. After graduating, he trained with Philippe Gaulier in Paris and completed an MFA in Theatre Directing from Birkbeck University. Josh was formerly an associate artist of The Yard and MUJU (A Muslim – Jewish theatre company).
