‘A vast, miraculous play… a searching and radical rethinking of American drama.’ New York Times

An epic story of divine intervention Angels in America is one of the defining works of 20th century drama.

In a New York turned upside down by the chaotic energy of the1980s and the destructive terror of AIDS, Tony Kushner’s Pulitzer Prize-winner weaves together private and public Reagan-era lives in a vivid dissection of relationships, of survival and of faith — of all that makes us human.

Headlong Theatre, Citizens Theatre Glasgow and Lyric Hammersmith are proud to present the first national revival of this two-part masterpiece since its premiere at the National Theatre. The production features Olivier award winner Greg Hicks (Macbeth, Coriolanus for the RSC; Tamburlaine, Barbican) and Olivier award nominee Ann Mitchell(Through the Leaves, West End; Tantalus for the RSC; Dolly in TV’s Widows).

‘The broadest, deepest, most searching play of our time.’Newsweek
